Our Story
DIVETECH is the nautical brother to hunting apparel brand Huntech. It was created to better serve the spearfishing and freediving market in New Zealand.
The ocean is a big part of our cultural identity in NZ. We holiday by it, we explore it with boats, we gather food from it, we play in it, we swim in it, and most importantly, we connect with it.
New Zealand has the highest number of divers per capita in the world, and there is a strong bond between the ocean and us Kiwis. It’s part of our backyard; it’s part of us.
Our Vision
DIVETECH is designed and tested right here in NZ, so we know it's best suited for our local conditions and performs when you need it most. By developing our own gear, we don’t have to import brands from foreign companies, which means we can offer a great quality product at a great price, making it easier for the average Kiwi to get in the water, feed the whānau, and appreciate what our oceans have to offer.
Sustainability
We also believe the more people we can get in the water, the more people we have to help look after it. We like to take a sustainable approach, always trying to find ways to reduce plastic and waste where we can – this includes our packaging. We ensure that our suppliers respect our planet and treat their staff fairly. Though we may merely make ripples by ourselves, hopefully, if we all jump in, we can make a big wave!
